About

My Approach

I always tell the people with whom I work ... "if I can know you then I can help you." With that being said, my main focus is to hear you, listen your experiences, and come to an understanding of the dynamic/s that you are facing through your journey. We are ALL on a path through life and at any given time can be in a healthier space than we were before. It is important to learn from these experiences, not facing them as "right / wrong" or "good / bad", but as opportunities to learn more about ourselves, grow from the events, and move toward a healthier us. As a therapist that is trained in a Health Psychology / Behavioral Medicine emphasis, I encourage us to look at how our mind / body / and spirituality are all interconnected. Where as I may pull from varying schools of thought such as Psychodynamic, Cognitive/Behavioural, Humanistic/Person Centred, and Existentialism I find that looking at how these experiences effect our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours can give us insight into how we can become more wholly integrated and mentally healthy along our journey. I am very conversational in my approach to psychotherapy and hope that the people with whom I work can come out of our sessions challenging themselves to a more wholistic and healthy approach to living. It is important that we all take care of ourselves mentally, nutritionally, physically, relationally, and spiritually.
